The Yanai Gold Fish Festivalwas
particularly entertaining. All age groups participated and it was loud and fun
to watch. Some of the participants fell while running around in circles! Everybody
laughed, but they did not seem to hurt themselves.
Akiyoshido Cave I was pleased to see the increase in the growth of the plants
I featured in my first blog. They reminded me of bananas I have at my home in Jamaica. We eat
green bananas fried or boiled, it is one of the staples of my country.
Bananas is a
perennial plant. It is sometimes planted with other crops in the yards of
interested Jamaicans or on large farms as a monoculture crop. The plants are
easily damaged by hurricanes, diseases or droughts.
This
is the largest collection of this reptile I have ever seen. These are turtles.
They all seemed interested in getting closer, maybe they thought I had food!
